Hi guys waves.gif

I don't know if I've just been over doing it with the lifting, but my lower abdomen and belly is really sore today - like i've pulled a muscle. I'm nearly 14 weeks. Is anyone else finding any stomach tenderness or ligament soreness? It is fine when I'm sitting, just when i'm walking or bend over or do any time of stretching even the tiniest amount.

I think i've been lifting my toddler who is about 13kg in awkward ways to avoid him kicking or knocking my belly! I don't know how I'm going to go lifting him in and out of his cot when I get bigger sad.gif I'm trying hard not to avoid lifting heavy things, but sometimes i just have to.

Previous to now, whenever I've gotten up quickly off my chair or rolled over in bed, I get a shooting pain down the side of my belly too which can be for a few seconds, very painful.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from others and if anyone is feeling the same.

Hi Misty,

My lower belly feels tight & stretched and is also quite sore! I too have a toddler about 15 or so KGS who is a big Mummys Boy and i carry him often and he often falls out of bed so bending & lifting in back in during the night. Not sure if this has something to do with it, but i cant remember having a sore belly when i was pregnant with him. I'm also 14 weeks (15 tommorrow)

I don't have a toddler to lift, but I do work on checkout, so constantly lifting up to 10kgs a shift.
My stomach from the ribs down are always sore, and I have trouble sleeping at night due to not being able to get comfy.

Pretty sure that ligaments can start stretching at this stage of a pregnancy, so I think it's pretty normal. Chat to your physio about it, but just make sure when you lift things that you use your core properly to stabilise your pelvis - it needs all the support it can get when it's full of relaxin.
