In my recent thread, many people said that Alexi was a boys name, and they only knew boys/men named Alexi.
I'm kind of heartbroken because its a name DH & I both liked! So I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of any females with the name Alexi? Is it just rare for a girls name, or is it completely unheard of? TIA |

Know a little girl with the middle name Alexis. And a female family member's name is Lex (Lexie). So, for me, Alexi as a girl's name isn't a stretch.
I do have a penchant for boy's name for girls tho Alexi/Lexie/Alexis are cute for a girl. |

DD was almost Alexi. I thought it was a girls name. She does have an Alexis in her class. I prefer Alexi, and love Lexi for a NN.

To me Alexi is a name like Sascha where its a boys name in more eastern countries but girls as well in western countries
Don't know any personally but Alexi Bedel was Rory in The Gilmore Girls. I also thought of Alexei Sayle but the spelling is slightly different. Although if I was going to name a child from The Young Ones it would be Vyvyan all the way. |

Never seen it as a female name but there's no law, op, if you love it then use it.

My 4yr old daughters name is Alexi.
The name means "helper and defender of mankind' I love her name, we call her Lexi and Lex as a nick name. I definetly see it as being a girls name. The other name we were considering was Alexia. Alexis was too common for us. |
