Can anyone recommend a good brand of dummy for a 2 month old? Thanks. |

My DS has always preferred the cheapy ones from Kmart! He rejected all others, Avent, Tommee Tippee, Nuby, etc etc.
edit to add: One advantage of the cheap ones is that as they disappear, as dummies do, they're a lot less to replace. This post has been edited by erindiv: 06/12/2012, 11:51 PM |

Despite me buying numerous other "cute" looking brands, both my children, and most of the other babies in my family, have loved the cheap as chips Happy Baby cherry teats.

The only ones my DD2 likes is Soothies. They're from USA, can get them on eBay. Much much more like a boob than any other dummy I've seen!

We always used the Avent ones, and yes, we had to buy quite a few as they can disappear!
My DS took to them straight away, and rejected any other ones we tried (wouldn't have a bar of the bigger cherry shaped ones). |

DS uses the Avent orthodontic silicone . I took everyone's recommendations and looked for the Happy Baby cherry but can only find them in latex which I wasn't keen on. Apparently the silicone are back after a manufacturing issue but I can't find them. Regardless, DS likes the Avent and you can even get glow in the dark night ones for ease of locating.

Start with the cheapest and go from there. You might have to try a few to find one your child will take.
Two of mine liked Tommee Tippee cherry shape (easily available, cheap). DD2 liked expensive Nan. |

Happy Baby cherry teats were recommended to me by midwives. The larger teat makes it easier for the baby to hang onto I was told, no idea if correct though!

Cherry type recommended by my mw but bub didn't want it when he was 2 weeks.
Bub took a tomee tippee orthodontic (flattish) one but I learnt that the cherry one reduces sucking in more air than the orthodontic ones. So dh tried to train him to take and truly within one short session bub started using the cherry one and now sucks on it happily if he wants it. We use the Happy Baby Cherry dummy from Chemist Warehouse. It's cheap and it's Australian made. Most brands are made in China. |
