So, I have an awful bladder and despite emptying it prior to jumping in the sack with hubby, I also have to go afterwards (unless i want to wake up in a few hours to do so anyway).

This is probably something that has been asked a billion times before...
Do you think that using the toilet after BDing significantly impacts the number of sperm that remain in the vagina??
I'd love to hear your thoughts, and how you came to them.

Oh - I've never been preggers before either, so I have zip.zero experience with how to succeed at this, so I have no way of knowing if it matters or not

No, it doesn't matter. It is semen coming out, not sperm. By that time the semen has done its job of delivering the sperm to the top of the vagina.

Probably TMI but I usually feel the need to urinate afterwards also. When DH and I were trying to conceive I would lay down with my hips elevated for at least 10 mins afterwards. I also made sure I orgasmed after he was done to ensure the semen was drawn up so to speak. We only ever made one egg using FSH injections and it worked first go. It only takes one sperm to make a baby so the few that might be lost isn't anythign to worry about I think. Hope that helps

Pretty sure it's a myth that either of these things have a positive bearing on conception.

I have been told that it is important to urinate within an hour after sex (especially for women) as it helps prevent urinary tract infections, so it is a good thing to do. Basically, within minutes all that can go up has and all that must come down will anyway, so to speak (otherwise the myth about not getting pregnant when the woman is on top would be true).

I don't think it matters but I do remember waiting about 5 mins both times we were trying to get pregnant just in case (we were very lucky to conceive 1st attempt with both kids). I always need to go afterwards and have heard that you should to help prevent UTIs anyway

I always go to the loo after and put toilet paper 'down there' after to soak up what falls out and I'm 4wks pregnant. The night I conceived, dh and I did it standing so the theory of having to lay down after with you that legs up is definitely a myth
