I'm just wondering if decreasing fetal movements is an indicator that baby is beginning to get into the right position for birth, even if it means birth is weeks away?

The last week I have noticed baby is moving less frequently and the strength of movement has decreased, baby is still moving multiple times throughout the day. I know that at this stage in pregnancy there is less room for baby to move around.

At my 38 week appointment the MW said baby is still high and not in my pelvis.

The latest studies show that there should not be any marked decrease in fetal movement at the end of pregnancy. I have no idea from personal experience. Practically speaking there is alot less room to move about. I would talk to your OB, if I were you.

It can be, but decreased movements should always be reported to your Dr immediately. Get yourself checked out.

Please contact your Dr or hospital ASAP. They can get you for CTG monitoring to make sure bub is ok and not in distress.

Movements change as we get closer to term but they should not really decrease in frequency so much. As PP said, all is probably ok but best to have a CTG just to check.

Get checked OP to be on the safe side. I brushed it off as I thought that the baby would be moving less and with less force. I went in for a routine check up which ended up in an induction. I dread to think what might have happened if I didn't have an appointment when I did.
My DS is all good now!
Just get checked to be on the safe side!

mine all moved right up until they were born just diff movements

It's more that the kicking and punching slows but you will feel them sticking out they're bum and stuff more. Less painful but more uncomfortable
