ttc after having the implanon

hi all, im new to this so i hope i do this right lol. my name is melissa im 22 and married to my childhood sweetheart, i have 2 kids caiden who will be 4 in may and makaylah who will be 2 in march. i had my implanon taken out 3 days ago and we have started ttc our 3rd just wondering how long it took other who had the implanon to get pregnant and how long it took for their period to come back? i only had the implanon in for 5 months and didn't have a period at all. I got mine taken out nearly 6 years ago after having it in for 20 months as i all of a sudden started bleeding constantly after not at all for the first 18 months. Periods went back to normal pretty much straight away and fell pregnant 8 months later. DH and i weren't trying but we weren't using any contraception (silly i know). Prob wont take that long if your actively ttc and are BD at the right times. Good luck

My friend got pregnant by accident, she got the implanon removed and started taking the pill and got pregnant straight away!

thank you both I have been doing ovulation tests (impatient i know) and so far they are negative, hopefully my period returns soon.

I was pregnant within 3 months after having my 2nd stick removed. I was told by my GP that because the hormone levels in them are so low that it shouldn't affect fertility once it was removed.

I had mine taken out in Nov 2010, after nearly 7 years (was on my 3rd implanon). I got pregnant in April, but had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. The next cycle I had a chemical pregnancy, and the following cycle I conceived my daughter who was born in March this year. My cycle came back quickly & was regular straight away. So around 4-6 months, which is similar to any young healthy couple ttc. My doctor told me that your cycle would return to what they were previously, so if you were always irregular, that would be the same after. From my friends experiences, it's much quicker than the return to fertility after the pill. HTH.
