I know, I can't even imagine placing myself in their position.
They are finally laying him to rest on Friday, hopefully that will be some consolation to them and bring a little peace.

I think they are amazing and I am sure that their lovely boy is looking down on them with immense pride. Makes me well up just thinking about it.

Daniels father is coping a bit better that his mum. On the news she is always looking like she is ready to collapse crying and I don't blame her. I would be an absolute mess.

I was saying this to my Dh yesterday. Daniels dad was saying there is no point in what ifs? But surely it would be human nature to ask why and what if's?

I also couldn't live with myself if I was someone that witnessed it and didn't do something.

That was horrible reading. All those people whop knew it looked strange and who did NOTHING at the time. I would HATE for that to happen to my daughter, knowing people said and did nothing.

I too wondered about all these witnesses noticing things and not one called police?

One day at the park I noticed a man who was acting very strangely, watching all the children and moving around and wearing clothes, hat and sunglasses that made it hard to identify. So I sat there watching him for quite a while and watched him approach two girls, start talking to them and gestured towards his car and something about Mcdonalds.(the girls were about 10 and 13) I got his rego, rang the police and followed his car to the local Mcdonalds where the police caught up with him. (the police were on the phone with me whilst following him to get his location).

I am not sure what happened, but he was taken away. A paddy wagon and undercover car also showed up.

Anyway, whenever I see something strange, I report it. Might be nothing, or it might be something that saves some childs life.

May Daniel rest in peace, and his parents find some peace in putting him to rest on Friday.

I honestly think hindsight is a wonderful thing. Some of those people might have thought Daniel was the man's son and was just being painful. Perhaps the people in the backseat were being bogan tools? it's not until you have all the details that you start to put the clues together

Lot's of people don't report things, just like lots of people stand back and watch someone being assaulted. It's what many people do sadly. The sheep mentality. It starts in school..

I think the Morcombes are amazing, they have channeled their grief into helping others so it doesn't happen to other kids and they have turned what was/is a horrific situation into something good. They have had their fair share of demons to battle along the road though. In such a situation for mental sanity, you can't have those questions of 'what if' hanging around because you can't change what has happened and holding onto anger will only destroy you.

I cant help but ask the what ifs. I just hope that people look at this case and report anything that doesnt seem right! The Morcombe's are amazing people, never did they give up and throughout this incredibly difficult time they have opened all our eyes to child protection. Very few people could say they have have never heard of the Morcombe and their tragic loss. I just hope that finally laying their son to rest brings them some closure.
