I bought a kit in K-Mart for $7 great value. Just made the stars using a biscuit recipe I had but they don't look as smooth and even as the pic. The kit does not come with a recipe, does anyone have a nice cookie dough recipe they wouldn't mind sharing please.

I have also tried the cheats shortbread recipe but didn't like that for me it didn't roll properley and was really crumbly. Thank-you

Mine uses:

2 1/2 cups flour
185g butter
1 cup sugar (I use castor sugar)
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons of Vanilla extract

It does have the whole beat sugar and add flour that most recipes have but I'm a melt and mix person and never bothered with all the extra stuffing around.

Pretty much melt the butter, add it into the flour and sugar mixture with the remaining wet ingredients, combine until it comes together into a ball-ish shape, split into half and flatten into a round shape to set in the fridge for at least a half hour, then roll out and use as needed.

Bake at 180 for 10-12 minutes.

I use it for all the recipes involving cookie cutters, it's the one that came with my Star Wars and Cars cutters and usually gets great reviews.
