Ouchie ! I was just about to feed 16wko DS and noticed a line of blood across his cheek - before realising it was coming from the end of my nipple where hed brushed against it. He's been a bit fiddly while feeding but tbh I didn't notice any cracking or major soreness. It kept bleeding just a bit while I fed him on the other side (only a drop at a time ) then a drop of milk appeared so I guess it's right in the duct ?
What should I put on it and is it ok to feed him that side ? Thanks in advance This post has been edited by Liltuss: 30/11/2012, 12:07 PM |

When establishing feeding with my DS I had a grazed nipple which bled a little. Lactation consultant said it was still ok to feed from that side. She also recommended lansinoh- spelling may be wrong. It's a lanolin ointment.

Best remedy is breast milk - rub a little in to the crack/ duct.
Lansinoh is also good. |

Thanks LB ! Thankfully we are past the previous feeding problems I had this one just came out of the blue. Although now DS tends to get distracted and wants to know what's going on around him while feeding ! He's a little wriggler
