More importantly, won't someone think of the felines and tell human kind how to Christmas-proof the poor kitties???

Back when I had a playful cat my technique was thus...

*Secure tree (we use a real tree) to the curtain rail so that it can't be pulled over by enthusiastic climbing.

*Place sturdy plastic baubles on lower branches - NOT glass ones, not fabric ones and definitely not the ones that are made from thousands of threads of shiny nylon!

These baubles will need re hanging several times a day, they will also need FINDING several times a day after they have been batted across the room and lodged in hard to retrieve places.

*wind lights around trunk of tree not across branches.

* do not use 'charming' hand made edible decorations.

Sit back and enjoy the show!

Just let the cat have at it. It's fun viewing for all the family. Although some sort of measure to stop the tree from falling is a good idea.

I don't really do anything special to safeguard our tree from our 2 furry monsters. However....

I upgraded though to a 6ft one to cater to them (it leans onto the chest freezer, butthey can sleep in it a bit easier) ohmy.gif .

I don't use tinsel (last time i did, we had green and red tinsel poop), I string the tinsel around the curtain rails, same with lights. But i don't really like lights and tinsel on trees anyway.

I don't use glass baubles anything else is ago. I should really secure it but can't be bothered.

original.gif This will be our first Christmas with our boy.

My glass baubles certainly won't be making an appearance this year!
