Please help me write a plaque, for our retiring school principal

Our primary school principal (Catholic School) is retiring after many years. We are going to have a plaque placed in the garden in her honour. Please help me with the wording. I'd like simple and heart felt but I want to avoid it looking like an inscription on a tomb stone. SM

Is working fulltime outside the home and inside the home!
That's a tough one. It needs to recognise the years of service and then the qualities offered/displayed by that person - eg. leadership, compassion, wisdom, etc.. Sorry, not that helpful really.

I think in some ways the simplest things often say it the best (i've just had to do a speech for a P and C president for over 5 years). Something along the lines of She leaves (name of school) a better place for her time here. She changed the lives of thousands of students.
