we think there are some baby naming guru's here on this site. I think I have encountered the GURU of guru's here: http://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/artisanal-baby-naming I thought it was very funny! hope you do too! I especially loved: "A frivolously applied baby name is a capital crime in my book. When you hire me, you’re trusting me with the task of defining a human being with a sound." hehehe |

Haha I love it. On a serious note, in Chinese cultures there are professional name consultants! Our son's Mandarin name (his middle name) was chosen by a professional. There are various methods but most involve looking at the precise time of birth plus parents' birthdates. The surname is also taken into account. While our guru was happy to work just via email - no bedroom spying - we were provided with a few auspicious name options.
We also got a little blurb about what our son's life might be like, it includes specifics down to potential careers, haha. |
