I've just ordered a 6.5 litre Morphy Richards slow cooker from Kitchenware Direct. The reviews are positive. The specs are outstanding. It also looks very, very pretty. (It's my Christmas present to me for working so hard this year
So, has anyone got one? I had a $40 Sunbeam SC that I didn't like, the results were broiled/tasteless meals. Please reassure me (if you've got one) I've done the right thing - and, it's not just another kitchen gadget |

I have one
The only issue with it I have is that you can adjust the time but not the temperature. I find that most things only take 5.5 hours to cook which means I can't put things on at the beginning of the day to be ready for dinner time. I really need to put things on at lunch time if I want them ready for dinner...which means I can't do it on the days that I work. I also find that I never come close to filling it so have to be careful that the meat doesn't burn around the edges towards the end of the cooking time. I try to cook with a minimum of lkg of meat for casseroles etc otherwise it burns/dries out too easily. I mainly use it for roasts...which usually turn out great. |

I was given a Murphy Richards slow cooker for Xmas two years ago. I have found it time be really good. A great Xmas gift. As with pp I do find pretty much everything can be done in less than 8 hours but I the only trouble I have using it for the max amount of tines is that it smells do good I can't wait to eat it!! I tend to only use it on days I'm not at work.

Thanks for the replies! Going by the specs, it has a timer? I was assuming that I could set it to start and finish cooking at set times????
One feature I really like the idea of is removing the pot from the cradle and browning on the stove stop. I can't wait to receive it |
