I'm on a never-ending search for a long-lasting lipstick that's still nice & creamy to go on the lips. Everything I find that's nice & creamy doesn't last & the ones that last, I find really dry. I'd prefer a normal lipstick rather than the revlon type ones that are 2 step with the colour on first with the gloss on top.
Oh & ideally I'd like something that doesn't cost a fortune either. Asking too much? Maybe Any suggestions? |

Clinique's 'Black Honey' is the best one I've ever found. Better still, because it suits all skin tones. From memory, I paid around $35 for it.

Maybe its your application?
Lisa Eldridge gives a great tutorial with tips on how to create long lasting lipstick (skip forward to 11 minutes if you don't want to hear her recommendations) http://www.lisaeldridge.com/video/25389/ul...de-to-red-lips/ Basically the idea is you put a few dabs on and then really work it into your lips - rub it into all the nooks and crannies on your lips. Then blot (hardly any should come off). Then add another thin layer with a lip brush or from the bullet (correcting the shape of your lips). Blot and repeat. Personally, I love NARS velvet matte lip pencils, but they are expensive. Otherwise, I can vouch for Lisa's recommendation re: Maybelline 14 hour lip colour. MAC lipsticks are lovely as well (just the normal range), I just always find the girls at the counter are rude. This post has been edited by darcswan: 28/11/2012, 04:43 PM |

I know you said you don't like the two step ones, but the only one I have found that I like is Covergirl's Outlast lipstick. It is a colour and a clear balm. More like a moisturising lipbalm than a gloss. I find that helps to stop it drying out and cracking. I usually hate glosses because I find them sticky and gross.
You can buy the balm separately too, so I keep that in my handbag for moisturising my lips through the day. I use #598, and it is a lovely, natural but still wearing lipstick look. |

I love the Chanel ones - doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything. They're exxy but I always stock up when I can at duty-free.
