My glucose levels with DD were in the normal range. This pregnancy I have had a lot of issues with low blood pressure and it seems, problems with blood sugar as well. My level was 8.1 (so not far out of the normal range) when I had the short GTT. Yesterday when I had the long GTT I felt extremely sick before I had even finished the drink, sweaty, dizzy and eventually threw up the lot. I had a very similar thing happen last week but I hadn't just eaten (it had been about 30mins since breakfast) and I didn't actually vomit that time but was very close to passing out.
Now I have to do the long GTT again but I'm fairly certain the same thing will happen. The nurse even told me it will probably happen again. Does this mean I have GD? What do I do if it does happen again? The nurse said she will only want me to attempt it once more. I followed the clinic instructions closely with the 3 day carb diet beforehand and fasting etc. |

My hospital jumps straight to the long glucose test now - even if your low risk. Ive felt like this every time ive done it - dizzy, sick, sweating etc. and ive never had GD. Ive got mine next week. - I just wish there was another way to test for it!
