ok, Im a first timer, so I understand it can take longer, but surely I should be feeling definate kicks by now? I feel occasional twitches, which I assume are baby, but i don't really know. Id have thought Id be feeling them on the outside by now. Does anyone else not feel anything definate?

I'm just over 21 & only in the past week have the kicks been more consistent. I do have an anterior lying placenta, which blocks or buffers a lot of the early movement. Do you know where your placenta lies?

It's possible your placenta is anterior, did they tell you at your last scan?

I am nearly at 23 weeks with my 3rd and i only started feeling "strong" movement a week ago. I had felt internal stuff really early and then nothing for over a month. So don't worry, it's totally normal what you're going through, i bet by next week you'll be feeling the baby all the time!

I am a first timer and 21 weeks as well....and I am exactly the same as you Kez21.

Sometimes I think I can feel baby, and then I don't feel it again, and convince myself that clearly I wasn't. Everyone tells me it feels like different things.

I didn't feel anything until around 24 weeks - I was beginning to worry but my midwife assured me all was well but I just had an anterior placenta and would feel him once he got a bit stronger - and I sure did!

Im pregnant with my 2nd and didnt feel anything till 22-23 weeks. I have an anterior placenta too.
Itll happen, try not to panic. (I know this can be hard)

I didn't feel definite movements from baby until 23 weeks or so. I felt my first little kick at around 21 weeks. My poor DH didn't feel baby kick until around 26/27 weeks, he was sure the baby didn't like him I have an anterior placenta and was told this would effect when movements could be felt. I would try not to worry OP, before you know it you won't be able to go a few hours without feeling baby move/kick up a storm.

Thanks ladies. I feel better now. Im also in a due date group on a different site and some of them have video footage up of the baby kicking from the outside already!

I have no clue where my placenta is. At my 12 week scan the report said the placenta wasn't seen..i have the anatomy scan on Dec 6th, so im sure they will be able to tell me then.

I felt my second move at around that age for the first time. I had an anterior placenta. The first pregnancy I felt movement from about 16 weeks but the placenta was nowhere near the front. Don't sweat it. Hope the scan goes well.
