So I posted a few days ago asking about the strider plus - we decided against this after going to see it in the shop as you cant fit the toddler and the capsule together. I am planning to use the capsule for at least 4 to 5 months.

Now we are looking at the City Jogger select pram. It looks good but we couldnt see whether you can recline the baby (in one of the normal seats at around 6 months old) and still have the toddler sitting somewhere. When we went to the shop they didnt have the second seat to try out.

Any advice or opinions on this pram??

I have the city select and use it with my 27 month DD1 and 9 month old DD2. When DD2 was newborn I used the carrycot in the forward facing top section and DD1 was fine in the lower seat.

Now I use it with 2 seats and when its in full recline for DD2, DD1 can sit in her seat but the front seat does come down quite close to her. But in honesty I don't feel it infringes on DD1 at all and I'm really happy with the pram although with DD1 in the lower seat, if anything, the pram is heavy and hard to turn at times. I've heard that the older child should sit in the higher/upper seat which is better supported over the frame and the smaller child down low which can make it easier to push. Hope that helps.

I have the BJCS too and have used it for DS2 & DS3 since DS3 was born. There is an 18mth age gap. I have big babies, so I only used the toddler seat fully reclined from birth for DS3 (didn't bother with the bassinet attachment & my capsule didn't fit on it, otherwise that would have been awesome!). As pp said, having the older child at the front seat does make it heavier to steer, but still very manageable. Now, my 2.5 yr old sits at the front all the time still, facing forward, and the baby (10mths) sits in the top seat facing me. When the baby was little, I had no issues fully reclining his seat. Just had to make sure that the foot well part of the seat wasn't sticking out straight. I don't put the baby in the front seat because my older son would throw things at him or try to kick him I think

I have the Strider Compact which is the newer, slimmer, lighter version of the Strider Plus and you can have the capsule and the toddler as the capsule is designed to fit onto the second seat if you remove the hardwear. There are also extensions that you can buy the lift the top seat slightly to allow you to put the capsule at the top if you desired.
