We are having 3 tilers come out to quote on our bathroom. I'm just wondering a ballpark figure to expect & what it would normally include. Obviously it will include the screed bed but does it normally include waterproofing?
We are I'm Sydney, it's an "easy" tiling job of 6m2 floor & 18m2 walls with 30x30 floor tiles & 60x30 wall tiles. Thanks |

Waterproofing costs vary heaps. We had quotes of between $1500 - $2000 for a bathroom and ensuite, but I ended up doing it myself.
For tiling, we just recently did our new bathrooms, but we had a friend who is a tiler do them for us, so it was at a much better rate than he normally charges. But my SIL had hers done a few months ago, and she said the going rate was around $40-$50 per m2. I would say you'd be looking at around $1500 - $2500 for the tiling and waterproofing. |

So far first quote is $65m2 plus 25m2 for screeding. Doesn't include waterproofing. Seems a lot

After just finishing our ensuite and doing it all ourselves, tilers deserve the money they earn - OMG its not a easy job.
Really depends where you are, here they charge about $40-$60 per m2, but they doesn't include waterproofing or any prep work needed. |

So first quote was $2000, second over $3000!! That is JUST the tiling, no waterproofing, no tiles etc

My DH said to estimate about $35 per sqm. We did manage to find someone who charged this (via service central) for our back deck, but for the bathroom the builder brought his guy in and it must have been at least double or triple that.
The tiler didn't do the waterproofing - a different guy did that - no idea how much it costs. If you're in Sydney I can recommend a tiler! ETA. Just read that you ARE in Sydney - I'll pm you. It's the guy who did our back deck - I'm no expert but the job he did looks good and apparently it wasn't level so he had to spend a bit more time sorting it.
