I just wanted to come in to share a positive induction story!
up until yesterday, I didn't believe such a thing existed, so wanted to share it for others who may feel the same! I had a pretty traumatic induction with my first chid, so went into this induction (3rd baby) literally crying my eyes out. Arrived at the hospital at around 7am. Midwife turned up around 8am and broke my waters to see if it would kick start things without the drip. walked around for 2 hours, with not much luck. but smack bang on 10 am when the Obs wanted the drip put in I started getting some slight niggles. held off until 11am when things seemed to not be going anywhere, and the drip was put in at 11. started getting some mild/moderate contractions almost straight away, and was 4cms (had been 3cm pushing 4 for a couple of weeks) when checked. asked to hop into the bath around 12.40pm and had a few contractions and felt a little "pushy" midwife checked and I was 7cms. 15 minutes later, baby was happily screaming in my arms. it all went so fast that i'm still trying to get my head around the fact that it all went so well! |

Congratulations.
DD1 was induced and her birth was positive for me. DD2 was natural labour, and there wasn't much difference apart from DD2 coming super fast also. |

I had a very calm natural birth via induction also. I think I'm one of the lucky ones as you hear so many bad stories.
Congratulations |

I agree, induction seems to get a very bad rap, when it isn't necessarily bad! I was induced with my fourth and it was fine! Much nicer than birth #1 and #2, although not as euphoric as #3.
Enjoy snuggles with your gorgeous newborn |
