4yo itchy skin, WDYT?

My DD has been scratching all over (legs, back, face) today and seems to be getting worse as the day has gone on. There's no reason for any allergic reaction and she is not at all distressed just frustrated and constantly scratching. There's no visible rash or bites, maybe just redness of the skin but I'm not sure if this is due to the scratching. Any suggestions?

If you have rules out allergy etc, then my DD5 recently went through this. I put it down to growing?? and as such, her skin became dry. I rubbed sorbolene cream all over her sknny minny body and used a soap free wash in the bath. Seemed to fix her up quick smart. Just an idea if nothing else is seeming to be the cause. Especially given the hot / cold weather - her skin may be just dry??? HTH

Report bad grammar and spelling ring 1800 bite me
I get incredibly itching if I use to hot water. It itches like crazy and I find once I start scratching I can't stop. It's like one big mozzie bite. Creams to help to some degree but I find lowering the temperature of the water when I shower works better.

my 4 year old is like this, but it's anytime she's in the sun. she hates it and while i can't see a rash..she can't stop scratching.

Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it! She hasn't complained since my post. I will try a cool bath and lots of sorbolene cream after and see how it goes. Thanks again

If it's not too late, get some Dermaveen bath powder. Does amazing things for itchy skin. doens't look or smell gorgeous, but we love it here as we all suffer itchy dry skin from time to time. Dermaveen creams and lotions are wonderful too. BAsed on Oatmeal, which is a natural anti-inflammatory for skin. If you can't get that and she is still itchy, you can make up your own oatmeal wash by putting about 1/2 cup of plain old Rolled Oats into a stocking, tying securely and then soaking that in teh bathwater. works a treat! Tamm Thanks so much Tamm! I hadn't thought of that. We used to use Dermaveen on DS1 for his eczema and it was great! Will see how she is tomorrow and give it a try if need be. Thanks again
