Sorry to ask yet another question, but if any one knows the answer to this, it would be very much appreciated!

Not with MIVF, but my medicare records all show the actual date of service and no records about the date I paid or the claim was submitted. eg. Paid for cycle 30/11 and the planning items are billed that day, pick-up 14/12 and those items billed that day and tfr 18/12 and billed that day. Claim isn't submitted until 10 days after transfer when the cycle is complete, but that isn't the date for Medicare Safety Net purposes. Just my take on it.

The item numbers have to be dated the date of the service, regardless when they are paid for or claimed.
I'm wasn't with MIVF, but my clinic had a "no up front fee's" policy - we would pay/our CC charged for the cycle on the day of EPU and the clinic would electronically lodge the medicare claim that same day. The item number would be dated Day 1 of my cycle. I would then get a bill from my FS later, with 3 Item numbers on it and the corresponding dates for each - one for the planning of the cycle I think, dated Day 1 of my cycle, the actualy EPU, then the transfer. Same with the Anaesthistist - item numbers etc dated the date of the actual treatment. HTH |
