Hi.

So as the topic says, Im 10 weeks. I started having spotting after my first internal ultrasound at 7 weeks. Since then we no longer BD as this also seems to cause spotting.
My OB is not concerned and says the baby is 100% fine and safe where it is, and he believes the bleeding is coming from the cervix.

Im currently taking 20mg of clexane daily, and he believes this may also be contributing to the bleeding.

I just hate seeing blood, its so scary. I know the baby is fine and I feel comfortable when Im not bleeding, but I turn to mess when I do.

Is anybody else on clexane, and have you experienced any sort of bleeding?

I wasn't on Clexane but did take Asprin for most of my pregnancy and had bleeding off and on for most of it. I did find that I would bleed after any vaginal contact, so we put sex on hold for a few months.

Can you ask your Dr for more regular scans for your own reassurance? I had them weekly up to 15 weeks and found it helped to reduce my stress levels.

I hope the bleedign eases up soon and the rest of your pregnancy is less stressful.

I may have mentioned this but I gave up Clexane (Ob orders) after my first bleed - that was at 10.5 weeks. My FS said to take the Clexane to 11 weeks so I was not too concerned about finishing it a few days earlier.

So, I spotted from 8.5 weeks to 10.5 weeks when I had a bleed, then spotted again through to 11.5 weeks, then another bleed and have had no problems since - no spotting, no nothing. Baby looked great on Thursday at my NT scan so no harm done.

Have you had a scan done recently or are you holding out to your NT scan??

I was on clexane and aspirin in my previous pregnancies and didnt experience bleeding although there was a bleed that showed up on the scan (nothing external) which resolved eventually.

The clexane makes you more prone to bleeding and brusing. I was covered in bruises by the end. Can you get a scan so that you know all is ok.

Yep, I was on clexane injections twice a day from 9 weeks pregnant with my twins and had bleeding on and off almost the whole way through. I also had some bleeding just before 7 weeks and had an ultrasound to check everything was ok. I had no choice and needed to be on the clexane as they discovered I had a huge DVT from my ankle to my belly button. But my OB had a little basic ultrasound machine in his rooms so would have a quick look at each appointment which was reassuring.

I also had pretty bad bleeding which was like heavy spotting or a light period constantly when I was pregnant with DD1 but I wasn't on clexane then. I had no reason for the bleeding and OB wasn't concerned.

Although, it is reassuring to know that it can all turn out positive in the end.

I just had a scan with OB last Thursday, then a heavy bleed on Friday night. Lucky for me I have access to an U/S machine at work, so I scanned myself on Saturday and bub was fine.
Today I had more spotting... and sorry if this is TMI, but it even seems to be happening after a bowel movement.

So yes, Ill probably have another scan on Thursday to reassure myself.
I tell the OB when it happens, and I think he may take me off clexane earlier than the planned 20 weeks. Satay, were you nervous when you stopped clexane?

I have never been on Clexane but spotted/bled from weeks 5 - 14 in my first pregnancy. It was never explained and was pretty scary. In the end, we put it down to a grumpy cervix. It didn't happen in my second pregnancy.

Satay, were you nervous when you stopped clexane?

Hey Glitterz, not at all. In fact, I feel much more confident being off it and have not even had any spotting for the last week - everything has setttled down. I know everyone is different but my FS was keen for me to only go to 11 weeks on the Clexane anyway so definitely talk again to your OB about stopping earlier.

I know its really hard but try not too worry too much. Are you able to have a few days at home with total rest to see if that helps?
