Hi,

Am very new to all this, but need some advice!
My DH and I want to start a family, and this month was to be my last month on the pill.
I have missed 2 days over the weekend, after taking the first 6 active pills and wondering if i should just stop mid pack and try to get regular period or continue the end of the pack?
has anyone done this, and does it muck up your cycle?
I can only find advice on what to do if you are not TTC -which is to take the pills!

it shouldn't mess up your cycle, it just means you're going to start bleeding soon after you last bled (actually if you missed 2 consecutive pills there's a chance you'll start bleeding anyway).

periods on the pill aren't true periods anyway.

I've moved my breaks on the pill a few times, and had other times where I started a month and then constantly forgot the pill and it never interrupted my cycle.

My GP told me the other day you can stop whenever you want.

Whilst on the pill you don't actually have a 'cycle' - it's all artificial hormones so it doesn't matter when you stop. In fact, the sooner the better as sometimes your natural cycles take a while to kick into gear post-pill. As long as you're happy to fall pregnant straight away of course!

As the others have said, it doesn't matter when you stop. And speaking from recent experience, I would say stop as soon as you can!! It can take a while for things to kick in to gear and your cycle to work itself out. Good luck

thanks for all the responses, I am feeling much better about this!
Very happy to conceive straight away, I guess the biggest thing was worrying it would muck up the return of my real periods.

am throwing those things away!!

Yeah it doesn't matter when you stop. When I went off the pill I stopped mid-pack and found out I was pregnant five weeks later! Just expect a small bleed soon and then for your real cycles to start after that.
