I have just been diagnosed with GD at 35 weeks im (now 36 weeks) and they are probably going to induce me at 38 weeks so its not left me much time to go and see a nurtitionist, diabetes educator etc. Im still going to try and get a appointment but in the mean time im trying to work out what I should be eating.
What is your favourite diabetic meals and snacks? Ta |

OP I was given this book when I had GD and it's got some good info in it.

I have type 2 diabetes after having GD during my 3rd pregnacy. There is a 50% increases risk when you have had GD. So follow up GTT 6 weeks after birth and every year is really important. I would initially just cut out all refined sugar, and limit your mealtime carbs ie potato, rice, pasta. Eat more of the veg and protein components of the meal.
Snacks - a few nuts, some veges, an egg, half an apple. Include some protein to help fill you up. Good luck. |
