Hi, this is to all the ladies who use cloth diapers and perhaps sew their own.
I bought 7 metres of french hemp/cotton terry cloth online (french terry is smooth on one side with the terry looping on the other side). After receiving it, it feels pretty rough. I'm guessing a few hot and cold washes should do the trick. Does anyone have any experience with the hemp/cotton blends? Do you know if it shrinks much? Will it become softer after washing? I was thinking to sew prefolds to start and see how I go from there. Also, because the fabric is smooth on one side and the terry is on the other side, I'm not sure if the prefold should have the smooth side facing in or out. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! |
