Hello,

I am in trouble with my Iphone as I completely have no idea.

I have the Iphone 5 which very very sadly I dropped today and shattered the screen. After many curses at myself, I went to the Apple store and got a replacement one.

They backed it onto Icloud before giving me the new one but I have not been able to restore all my old data onto the new phone. I think I must have skipped the step in the set up stage.

Then DH (who does not know Itunes either) suggested we log into Itunes and try that way. Somehow we have downloaded DS Itunes info although we both swear that we logged into my account.

So, to cut a long sad story short, does anyone know how to change DS Itunes details back to mine? I have a Genius bar appointment tomorrow but I really need my phone details...

Really hoping someone Apple eduated can help me!!

This should work:
1. On your iPhone - Go to Settings - General - Reset - Erase all Content and Settings
2. Let it restart
3. Go through the setup (set your language, country etc)
4. Login to a wireless network (I don't think it will work on mobile data but I might be wrong here, you could try, it will let you know if you can't)
5. Choose "Restore from iCloud backup" - Don't choose "Set up as new iPhone", I left out a word before.

At some point (can't remember exactly when in the steps), you'll need to login to your iTunes/iCloud account - the one they backed up to.

This will wipe and reset anything you've done since you got the new one. I hope it helps/works.

ETA - I may have steps 4 & 5 out of order.

All fine now, so thank you so so much! Did a restore and wipe so was able to restart and log into iCloud properly so I could install my backed up data.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your help. Now, to just not drop my phone ever again....

Oh I'm glad I could help original.gif. I enjoy setting up phones/tablets/computers (and usually get the job in my family).

Does your phone have a case? Even those screen protector sheets help I think. My new iPhone 5 has a really good one on it - it's a bit stiffer than other ones I've used but doesn't impede the touch screen at all. Think it was Mecurial brand, or something like that.

Best of luck with the new one!
