Hi,
DH has IPhone 3GS thinking of upgrading. I can just put my sim into this and he get new phone with his sim. We are with same company same bill etc. Can I just pay as per my plan or would the plan need to be changed?? I currently dont have a smart phone. Thanks |

You should be able just to start using his iPhone no problem...pretty sure you don't need to unlock iPhones.
As for your plan it depends on what it includes. Do you have a data allowance? If you want to use the internet you need either wifi access or to have data in your plan so that will be the deciding factor for you. You'll love your iPhone once you start using it!! |

If YOUR sim fits into the iPhone then there's no need to change YOUR plan. If it doesn't, I think they can just give you a micro sim without changing your plan at all.
Now as to your husband. It depends if he's on a plan and if his contract has ended. He's the one that will have to change plans. edited to add. If it's locked to a network you may have to pay or get your provider to unlock it. If it's unlocked you should be fine. This post has been edited by Luxe: 23/11/2012, 09:23 PM |

I just brought an iphne 4 outright last week, am with optus and was able to stay on my plan. they cut down my old sim (possibly 10yr old) to fit in the iphone.
DH brought iphone 5 on the weekend, he needed a new plan, needed a new microsim, optus transferred his details for the sim at the shop, phone was useable about 4 hrs later. |

I popped my sim in a friends iPhone that he gave me once he upgraded. We were both with Telstra.
I kept all his apps and music. If his old apps need upgrading I just wait until he is at our place and he puts in his iTunes password. For all new apps that I have put on I use my iTunes account. |

Depending on who you are with and what sort of plans etc they offer you might even be able to stay on your current plan and just do an add on data plan.
Its possible you might need a new sim card to work in the phone depending on how old your sim is but they should do that for free for you. |
