Hello!

I know the year is rounding up but i am looking into extra curricular activities for my almost 5 and 3 year old for next year.....

I'm not sure what they would be interested in, but wondered what your kids do and whether they would enjoy it?

Currently they do swimming... but i was wanting to look at something else like martial arts, soccer, football, athletics... not sure if they are too young for it...

edited for spelling!

DS2 and DD do gymnastics (it's just a pay as you go half hour class which they are loving and they will have the option to continue on as they get older if they wish) and DS1 has just started Taekwondo, they have little tigers for 4-6 year olds and then once you turn 6 you start in the beginners class (which is where DS1 is right now). If my twins ask next year once they turn 4 I will be considering putting them into the little tigers class.

I will be putting DS1 into swimming lessons next year aswell (it goes by school term at our local pool so no point putting him in now so close to the end of the year).

I am not WA, but my daughter does little kickers, it is soccer for little ones (when she turned 3, but their classes start even younger). They don't actually play soccer, just games to help with coordination, ball control, understanding directions etc...

It is so much fun for them.

Just wanted to add, we also (when not busy) go to our local library with DS2 and DD for story time and rhyme time, at story time they sit down read about 3/4 books, do a little song in between each one and then at the end do an activity before heading home. At Rhyme time it's lots of singing and dancing before getting out the musical instruments for a play. It's not on over the holidays but they do have other activities on for a wider age group, all free, last school break they did bed time stories, and a story time where they read a bunch of childrens garden stories and then they all got to decorate their own flower pots. They had sci-tech come aswell but that was for children older than my own so we missed out on that.

What part of Perth are you in? My 3 & 4yo do Kidz n Sport during term time, and 4 & 7yo usually do a couple during holidays. Heaps of fun and they're learning skills applicable to lots of different sports.

We've also tried Tiny Tots Tennis and gymnastics. Our karate school only takes from 5 up now, I think (they did briefly take 4yo, but I think they've stopped now). DD does ballet and our dancing school does hip hop and breakdancing classes, so DS1 is doing dancing classes as well (DS2 not interested.)

My son started Recreational Gymnastics (4+) at Westcoast Gymnastics in Malaga and absolutly loves it!

My daughter does Kindy Gym there and would go everyday if I let her (up to 4 years)
