Hi All,
Our family are relocating interstate in just a few weeks, and we only recently learnt that hubby's eldest will be coming to live with us at the new location. The child will be coming from another state to live with us, and here's the sitaution: we've submitted an application to a private school, but we're still waiting to hear back. How long do you normally wait to get an offer? We were told a few weeks from the other week, but haven't heard anything yet. Also, how do you organise a back-up school? Sorry if they're obvious questions, but school is new to me, since my kids aren't that age yet! Thanks! |

Definitely ring them - double check the application is not lost in processing. My daughter's was and I am very glad I checked up on it after three weeks of not hearing from them. Luckily I had a dated receipt for the application fee.
As for a back up school - you just apply to more than one, wait to see what offers you get then accept the one you want. |

Or just send your school to the local state school. You won't need to wait to hear anything from them, you can just turn up.

Yes definitely phone them it probably depends on the yr he is trying to get into. I have tried to get my son into a particular school for yr 7 2013 and he is on the wait list for that and 2014 is nearly full as well.
I would apply to several schools as well. Hope it works out. Louise |

I would assume intakes for private schools would usually be done by now. I was called in February 2012 for a place in 2013.
Depends on the school and how many classes they have. Maybe send him to the local school in your catchment area and and fill in the relevent applications so that you have back up. |
