DD (aged 4.5) wants curls in her hair tomorrow for her physie comp. Last year I used a curling wand but the curls didn't last very long. Should I use the wand in conjunction with hairspray/gel/mousse???
She is due there at 10am tomorrow and will probably be finished by 11.15. Any hints would be much appreciated |

I went out for a night with the girls and I had curls in my hair. They stayed the whole night with the help of A LOT of hairspray. Like a lot.

You need to apply hairspray to the section of hair before curling then immediately after.

wondering if she could have barrel curls.(think that's what you call them)
They are secured by a pin and can't fall...only need light hair-spray. |

Rags? I tied rags in DD2's hair for her dance concert when she was 3 and 4. I wound wet hair (I recall I used Schwarzkopf? curling mousse) around strips of fabric and then tied it up, she slept in it and took her hair out about an hour before the concert and sprayed the life out of it! Worked really well.

Do not hairspray before you use a curling iron! Only after!
Spray hair after you have curled but before combing or brushing. |

If you can find it - setting spray is helpful.
I curled my hair for a fancy dress party & used setting spray with the hotrods roller & it managed to keep the curl in my hair for the night. At that time my hair was down to the middle of my back & i have a lot of it. I used 3/4 of the bottle though as each small section of hair was sprayed before it was wound around the roller. |
