Hi everyone,

I'm going to New Zealand tomorrow and plan to buy a nz sim for my phone.

Having never been out of Australia can someone tell me how I should dial the aus number.

The mobile number do I leave the first 2 numbers off mobile number?

Same with if they ring me do they just dial the nz mobile number?

With landline do I need the area code?

Sorry probably silly questions.

To ring and OZ landline from overseas you dial
011 61 area code but drop the 0 then the phone number
ie if the phone number is 02 62938362 the dial 011 61 262938362

If ringing a mobile in OZ from overseas and say the number is 0402 555 666 then dial
+61 402555666
You drop the first 0 of the number

For people to call your mobile number in NZ they must have the country code (ie OZ country code is 61) and they just do the above but replace 61 with NZ country code.

+61 plus the number you are dialling minus the first 0 (either off the front of the mobile number or off the area code)

eg +61 414 123456 or +61 7 3812 3456
