Need some advice. First IVF cycle, blood test is on Tuesday. Should I POAS before then or wait until the blood test?
I am divided. I had decided to wait but DH is keen to know |

What's the harm?
I was booked in for a tubal laproscopy (sp?) and decided to POAS as I was quite nervous about it and, voila! it was a BFP! Whilst obviously that doesn't happen to everyone, there is definitely no harm in putting your 'what ifs' at ease. Good luck with everything. |

I always did. I didn't want to find out from a nurse if I was pregnant - I wanted to find out the 'traditional' way like everyone else got. I also didn't want to cry on the phone the cycles I wasn't pregnant. It's really up to you, there's no right or wrong.
Good luck! |

I wanted some warning before hand so I wasnt a mess on the phone. |

Don't, until the morning of the BT like Peebs said.
If its negative you'll just be upset, then worry that you tested too early, google, test again, get upset, worry, rinse and repeat until you get your BT. If it's positive you'll just be happy, then worry that it's a CP, test again, worry about the darkness of the line, test again rinse repeat. Again you won't really have any helpful information until you do your BTs and see the HG levels and the rate of increase. |

My full stim cycle I didn't test, I started bleeding before I was due to, so I thought it was a bust (well it was, as it ended in a Chemical)
But with the IUI's, I always tested the day before so I could prepare myself. I hate people hearing my cry. |

I always tested the morning of the bloods so I was prepared for the nurses news. (It also gives you the opportunity to stay at home from work if the POAS is neg).
But fingers crossed you'll get fab news from the nurse on Tuesday. All the best OP!! |

In the immortal words of Bartholomew Simpson...
Damned if you do, Damned if you don't! FWIW - I did POAS and went through all the emotions PP have discussed. 1st cycle ended in a CP and if I hadn't tested then I probably wouldn't have known. 2nd cycle I had Pregnyl shots on Day 3, 5, 9 so I would have shown as +ve even if I wasn't. This cycle resulted in DD. This cycle is our first cycle for #2 & I will test either the day before or the day of the test so when I get the call I am prepared for the result. Good Luck!!! FX this is the cycle for you!!! PS: We'll all be stalking |

Pregnancy mentioned.
I could never wait. Many cycles when I 'knew' it was BFN before the nurse rang saying "no HCG detected". The last cycle I nearly did wait, for something different, and then lost my control and tested at 9DPO (my clinic tests at 10DPO). I saw a hint of a line. My DP didn't believe it til we got the blood test results, anyway. Haha |
