*Sigh* I have a dilemma and need to some advice. I have a funeral today - I should really really be there but I have my 2yr old and no one to watch her.

My other two children are at school so thats fine. My DF however is having surgery this morning so I cant exactly leave her with him and my MIL has taken him to the hospital because he didnt want me waiting around there for him with said 2yr old.

Do I miss out on the funeral or do I go with my 2 yr old?

I think it is ok to take your 2 year old. Of course if she gets noisy you would need to take her outside. As long as you are prepared to do that then I see no issue with taking her.

I am sorry for your loss Cadie.

Sit near the back and if she gets at all scratchy or noisy then quietly slip out.

Personally, I wouldn't take a 2 year old to a funeral, unless it was an immediate family member. I guess you need to maybe weigh up the pros and cons of the situation.
Is it going to be a funeral that is going to have the casket up the front of the church...are you going to have to answer questions from your 2 year old regarding it?
Also how long is the funeral going to take? Will you 2 year old be able to sustain patience for the duration of the service without interrupting?

I don't think I've ever been to a funeral that didn't have babies and children present. But even if you think there are unlikely to be other children there I would think it's okay so long as you are prepared to slip out/away if disruptive.

I've done it twice. You can always stand outside if she gets noisy.

I would take a two year old unless it was a funeral for a baby or a child.

I think id rather go and have to slip out when she gets noisy rather than not make the effort to go at all.

I feel like I really need to be there. I dont feel like I cant just go.

I think i'll take a snack box for her and sit at the back.

Thank you guys xo
