Best new books for kids, many ages

I'm trying to choose books for each of my kids for Christmas. We have a LOT of book so it's kinds of hard. I have chosen for two of them, one teen and one primary age. I need four more ideas, one teen, one primary, one preschooler and one toddler. Something new and really good would be great.

For a Teen, the hunger games series seems to be a hands down favourite at the moment. For a primary, I know that there is a new wimpy kid diary out now (not sure if they are a fan at all) For a preschooler, there are some gorgeous books out there but I'm a little bit patriotic, so what about something like possum magic? And for a toddler, there is a lovely alphabet book that was done by Graeme Base called Animalia, not sure where your toddler is at book wise, but the pictures are amazing and each page has some lovely illustrations of things that start with the same letter. Not sure if any of these help, but I hope you find something wonderful for them.

Not new but I've been making list of recommended books for a while (on EB, award lists etc) Not so educational but I'll be buying this for my niece for Christmas, One Red Dot. Or maybe one of the sequels I also have these on my list for older primary: The Phantom Tollbooth or something by Diana Wynne Jones Lower primary Something by Bill Peet or Allan Ahlberg Toddler Dr Seuss's ABC, Where to Sleep, Me... Jane, The Lion and the Mouse, Love You Forever

Rather inclined to giggle. Doesn't put things away.
Graeme Base' Little Elephants looks good. Also like the Lonely Planet's Not For Parents Travel Book which is good for preteens, or even reluctant teen readers. I bought it for a 10 year old's birthday. Also ordered National Geographics 2012 Almanac for my 7 year old from Amazon, not sure where you'd get it here though. For fantasy lovers, Emily Rodda's latest trilogy is great - The last one just released, so very current. The Golden Door, The Silver Door and The Third Door.
