The other thread got me thinking.
I seem to spend more on Christmas presents for my children than their bday presents. They will get one main present for their bday and maybe a smaller thing but for Christmas they seem to get a main present, small presents and stocking stuffers, and also seem to get more from family. So my question is do you spend more on your child on their bday or Christmas or equally on both and if more for Christmas why do you think this is? It would make sense to me to spend more on their bday as it is a special occassion once a year that only they celebrate where as everone celebrates Christmas on the same day etc Hmmmm food for thought maybe I need to think about this for future reference. PS maybe also to add the costs of a party they have every year maybe that is a factor PPS I suppose this also applies to your DH/DP or any family member do you spend more on them at Christmas rather than their bday?? |

We spend more on christmas. Being heathens, christmas is largely about presents for us. It's our once a year spend up on the stuff we would never buy "just because". I mean we do get together with friends and family over the period and all that, but it's kind of secondary.
For birthdays we do more special things like cake and special dinner, or sometimes a party, so presents are not such a central focus. Although we don't skimp on presents for birthdays either. This post has been edited by BadCat: 22/11/2012, 12:46 PM |
