Ok, this may come across as b*tchy, but I've been called worse wink.gif

Those of you who go into a thread, skim it and then say "I haven't read all the replies, but" - why? 90% of the time when I've seen someone do this, whatever they've said has been said at least once before. Why not read the thread? Why admit that you couldn't care less about what other people have to say and just want to have your say?

I'm not trying to be nasty, I just don't get it shrug.gif

And I promise I will read every single reply this thread gets Tounge1.gif

I'm sure some people never even read the first post let alone the replies. They just go off half cocked after seeing the title. It's pretty funny really.

I usually just pop in when I have a few spare minutes and if i come across a thread I want to reply to I will add that I haven't read all the replies, just so if my opinion/advice/whatever is just a repeat of what someone else has said then they will know that is why. It's not that I don't care what others have said, it's just I haven't had the time to go through it all right now. Never thought it was a big deal to anyone!

I always try and read all the posts but sometimes if the threads are really long I will just add a comment and then read through all the replies at another time

I've only done that about once and it was when the thread had already blown out to several pages long and I did have something to say that could have been useful. It probably had already been said but I didn't actually have the time to read the whole thread at that stage.

Not on my list of things that bother me.

If it is a long thread, before posting I usually read the first page, which sets up the tone of the thread and the last page, to make sure the thread hasn't veered off topic.

But that is precisely why it bugs people. One of my pet hates. Why do you think that whatever you have to say is so special or your opinion is so unique that you should type it out and hit reply without spending the time to find out whether it is still relevant, or has been said eleventy billion times upthread?

I do it all the time. Sometimes I just don't have the time or the inclination to read all the posts.

Too bad if I am repeating what someone else has already said.
