Hi Everyone, my 4 month old DD wakes up a few times a week with a dry nappy after having a good feed before I put her down of a night. Normally she sleeps from about 9.00pm to 6.00am. Is this waking up dry normal? I never experienced this with my DS. Any one else experience this?

Yes, she's completey well and growing and putting on weight as per normal. It's just so bizarre!

Who knows, I don't know if it is a problem or not?
I suppose she "tanks up" in the day on feeds. Could you give your chn a ring and ask? I wonder if she will be one of those children who toilet "trains" early, time will tell! |

DD2 would wake up dry at times when she started sleeping though the night. She was only around 6 weeks old. It's happened on and off ever since.
I was worried it meant I wasn't giving her enough feeds. My child heath nurse said it was nothing to worry about. I can't remember exactly what she said now, but it was something like the output slows down overnight when they are in a really long sleep. Sometimes they can wake up dry. And DD did not TT early. Day trained at about 2.9 years (took a few months) and is still in night nappies at 4y. |

I thought the same thing too: that everything just slows down overnight including urine production. I just wanted some reasurrance I guess...

My DD2 is 3.5 months, sleeps usually from 21:00-07:00 (sometimes wakes to feed at 02:00). Sometimes she also wakes dry but as soon as I feed her which is pretty much as soon as she wakes, she does up to 2 poo & wee nappies. She is 6.2kg and in the 90% for height & weight so she seems very healthy.
