So DS's latest pair of runners have lasted a total of three weeks, and he was in bed sick for one of those weeks. His toe is already completely through the shoe and the sole has worn away in a few places ohmy.gif I will definitely take them back, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some that might be harder wearing? Thanks original.gif

I always found tennis runners, with the hard plastic toe area, lasted longer than jogger style runners.

what brand are you buying OP? although expensive i always buy DS branded runners as he out grows them before he ruins them. he has big feet though ( size 13 and only 4 so )( saving his previous shoes for future kids.) He only wears 2 pairs of shoes so i see the investment a good one.

Is this for every day wear at school? DS had some by New Balance that lasted really well - similar to this. He actually outgrew them which was a first!

sanity is over-rated
my boy is really hard on his shoes...

i try and avoid anything that has stitching on the top of the toes because he destroys them...

also things with tough leather tops as material just gets destroyed.

My DS hasn't had a pair of school shoes last more than 2 months in his 6 years of schooling. At the start of May I bought him a black leather pair of Nike runners for school. He has worn them 4 times a week since May and I'm very excited to say that he is still wearing them, the toe on one shoe is now coming away but still very wearable and will definitely last until end of term and I think they only cost around $60 from Rebel. So I think full leather joggers are the way to go.

I have always found new balance extremely hard wearing, and I also agree, some nikes are also very good (my son wears the black leather type ones).

Give me my coffee and no one gets hurt!!!
DS was really hard on his school shoes and constantly pushing through at the toe area, so I started buying skate shoes like these.

He gets though a whole year, unless he grows out of them.

As long as they are blqck and leather, the school can't say anything original.gif

For sports shoes, I find New Balance, Nike and Asics to be the longest lasting.
