If a cat doesn't like you, then what's wrong with you?
I am 7 weeks pregnant and did an OPK the other day for fun and it came up positive.

My understanding is that they will come up positive once there is a decent amount of hcg in your system so a OPK will generally only be positive if your pregnant if you get a positive hpt. I hope that makes sense.

OPKs test for something called LH (which is what induces ovulation). We'll pretend LH is like a little girl named Sally.

HPTs test for something called hCG (which is what bubs makes to support the pregnancy). We'll call this little girl Sally wearing a pretty summer hat.

So, since OPKs ONLY look for Sally (which both LH and hCG have in them), they will come up positive for being pregnant or ovulating. Now, the sensitivity of OPKs is much lower than HPTs so OPKs won't be any good for EARLY detection of pregnancy (because it takes time for hCG to build up in our system to a level that OPKs can detect it).

It may depend on exactly what your thyroid condition is.

I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis causing an under-active thyroid. For this particular condition it can play a big part in your chances of conceiving, and you'll need the medication in order to get things working again. As soon as i started taking thyroxine all my symptoms disappeared and I'm ovulating.

good luck and be sure to keep an eye on the levels during pregnancy as usually this causes the levels to change if you have a condition. those on medication usually get an increase at this time.
