I am always reading in the forums people complaining about house work that needs to be done. Washing clothes, dishes, cleaning, vacuuming I get, but whats with folding laundry? I just dont do it.

I have been to other peoples houses and seen a laundry basket full of beautifully folded laundry, people are always saying if DH, MIL etc could just help out and maybe fold some laundry that would be great etc etc

I wash clothes, I put them in the basket. Sheets and towels get roughly folded and put away, things get hung in the wardrobe or put in a drawer - evenutally. I dont iron either!!!!! Never in my life have I sat and folded a basket of laundry.

Is it really an essential chore?

I dont like the rumpled look and I refuse to iron so I always fold from the line. It only takes a second of two more per item to bring the washing in folded, then it can sit on the laundry counter for a month or so until needed!

For our shirts (DDs are too small) I just hang them on the line on their hangers...saves pegging, unpegging then hanging them. A lot of friends have come over and commented on it and then go and do it themselves.
Yes my washing baskets usually never get emptied properly

Yes, it's essential to avoid the rumpled look.

And I iron almost everything.

You can tell if things haven't been folded or ironed. Seriously.

I can say ive never sat down and folded a basket of washing.
Sheets rolled/scrunched in to a ball
Clothes rammed in to drawers
the odd thing gets hung
Simple lol

Everything gets folded as it comes off the line in this household. It may sit for a couple of days folded in the basket waiting to get put away but I don't have basket loads of unfolded clothes lying around.

Anything that needs to be ironed - apart from DH's work clothes, very little - gets done as needed.

I fold but stuff generally stays in a basket in our room until it gets worn again, we don't have a huge wardrobe :-)
Ironing - NEVER! I own an iron but it circa 1975 lol.
Oh & for people telling it hasn't be ironed...for me it's a matter of I simply don't care....
