Dear fellow Perth Parents,
I'm totally new in Perth (Swedish) The first months here went so fast with getting a house, arriving container etc..and now I'm panicking over how to get more play mates for my son!(well and I should get more friends with kids too:) Back in Sweden we mostly put our kids in a part time Kindergarten at 12 months.. As I have understood the system here is a bit different and the steps are called something else? I have now found a play group center that I'm enrolling to starting 7th of January, Im also in a Gymbaroo class( wher were not aloud to speak to each other more or less:/.. Still I need a place where my son can be a couple of hours a day without me to be more independent as he has been co sleeping and relocated continents and traveled a lot since born (11 countries the first 12 months) he seem to respond more to other kids the few times when I haven't been around to cling on to:) Any help and info from anyone here would be helpful so my son and I can start to bloom and socializing in our new hood! (and miss our mates back home a bit less desperate too:) Oh and please don't hesitate to contact me if you wanna hang out( I'm usually quite sane and hmm..non-desperate? Thank you! Kind Regards Josephine, Shenton park josephinelejholm@gmail.com |

Hi
I would post the same thing in the WA section so you may get more locals. We go to Gymbaroo also (they prefer you not to chat a lot but its a good place to get to know a few other mums and maybe organise some play dates. Certainly not a place you leave the child while you are away. There are creche's in gyms (Lords I think would be a close gym for you) but you need to stay on the premises. I think creches may not have many regulations though.... day care is not casual but there are some occasional care places i don't know of any though. Swimming lessons is a good way to meet others as well |

Hi Josephine,
We are in a similar position although we have not yet secured a rental property. We have just moved back after 16 years in London with two young girls in tow (4 & 18 months) and Shenton Park is the place we will be living in. At the moment we are house sitting for friends in Mt Lawley which is fab as it has a pool... My 4 year old starts kindy in 2013 and is down on Rosalie PS list but I would really like a play group to socialize my youngest daughter. Do you mind me asking which one you will be starting at? Anyway if you fancy a cuppa (and cake/brownie/donnut Cheers |
