Hi Ladies

Is anyone studying or completed the Bachelor of Nursing at Notre Dame in Fremantle? I have a few questions that I would like to ask people who have studied nursing there. I am interested to hear about how full on the course is – ie how many hours of classes do you need to attend per week and how many weeks of prac do you do at one time. Also did you have to do the course full-time or did they allow you to do it part-time. And any other info that I should know?

I am currently studying nursing at ECU (just finished my first year part-time) but I am seriously considering changing to Notre Dame (if I can get in).

Not nursing but I did my Masters at Notre Dame (Freo) last year and loved the campus. The lecturers and supervisors were brilliant.

When I got in in 2006 they told me I could only do part time for the first year and then the rest had to be done full time and you needed a really good reason. The students that were there told me the hours and prac were pretty full on-more so than ECU.

Hiddensecrets - did you end up going to Notre Dame or another uni? Yes I've heard the 8 week semesters are pretty full on and that there is alot of prac involved. I love the idea of more prac, but in reality it is probably not going to fit in around my family.

I ended up trying ECU but gave up due to getting very sick while (surprisingly) pregnant, and then I ended up having two special needs kids. ECU was problematic with one of the lecturers anyway so I was a bit put off. DH wants me to go back to my nursing studies but i am now rural so will probably have to go with CDU.
