Ds is nearly 11 months, and mostly breastfed (has formula as a dream feed). His day as far as milk feeds is breast milk at 7am, breast milk at 7pm, and a dream feed of formula at 930 ( which I am dropping). Up until a couple of weeks ago he was also having a breastfeed at 230 pm - when he dropped this I have tried offering him formula and cows milk but he doesn't want either. Are two milk feeds enough? When he is weaned at 12 months, what happens if he doesn't like cows milk - which seems to be the case at the moment. (he'll have it on weet bix but not as a drink). Do babies/toddlers have to keep having drinks of milk, or can they still thrive with milk on their cereal, yoghurt, cheese etc

I asked the MCHN about this, since DS was happy with only three feeds from 8 months, and she said as long as they're getting enough calcium in their diet, just be guided by them. DS loves cheese, yoghurt etc, but there's no reason why they specifically need dairy if their diet is otherwise balanced.

I asked the MCHN about this yesterday, and apparently ideally they need 3 serves of dairy a day to get enough calcium (they do get some calcium from other foods as well, which you can increase if they're not quite having enough...)

One serve is a cup of milk (250ml), or a tub of yogurt, or piece of cheese (40g from memory?)

Maybe you could keep up the dream feed if you're not sure he is taking in enough dairy from other sources?
