DD is 6 and one of her favourite shows is postman pat.
She loves writing letters and drawing lovely pictures to send to her friends and relatives, she puts a huge amount of effort into them and gets very excited about placing them in the red box and knowing that the postman will take them to her friends. She is starting to notice that no one ever writes back to her and every day asks to look in the mail box - when there are no letters she says 'thats okay the postman is taking a long time to bring my letters' she is starting to get really dissapointed ( fair enough people are too busy to get their kids to write back) but still wants to write and send letters even without getting any in return. I am wondering if anyone has a child who would love to get a letter from DD (and send one back) or write her a letter, it would really make her day!
Also she has autism so her writing/drawing skills are very behind but she loves trying. original.gif

happy to send her one from Singapore if you like? I just sent my niece one recently as I know she would love getting a letter, she called because she was so excited so I can understand your daughter's disappointment.

My DD 8 would love a penpal, she is always writing and drawing, it would make her day to receive a letter in the post. And to send one as well.

I am sure my DD would love to 'write' your DD a letter. She is only 4.5, so she can write, but can't spell, or read. But if I tell her the letters, she can write IYKWIM? She does love to draw!

We have a day off from kindy/school tomorrow, so if you PM me your DD's details (inc her name), I am sure my DD will get straight on to it!

My DD is disappointed every day that the grown ups get letters and she doesn't. Little does she know that letters to adults are all bills and not wanted. wink.gif

Dd1 loves "writing". Both girls received mail from overseas Last week .... After weeks of complaining that only Mama and Papa are getting some (mind you ... all we get are bills sad.gif ). They were soooo happy, squeaking like guinea pigs.

Emma would love a penpal.

Remember, You are always living someone else's Dream!
My Just turned 7yr old was just a few weeks ago really upset that she never got any mail herself. She would LOVE a penpal. She is really struggling with her writing, so this would be fabulous practice as well!!

We would be more than happy to have more than one too, biggrin.gif

Jess is 9 with autism too. She adores writing letters and is so sad that no one writes back. Would 9 be too old for your daughter? Jess loves animals, dinosaurs and loves to draw.

PM me if you think your DD would be interested. I can guarantee Jess will write back. biggrin.gif

Yes. SIL sends up a couple of puzzle pieces by mail each day in the weeks leading up to her visiting. She brings the last few pieces when she arrives. DS and DD get so excited looking for the bright yellow envelopes in the mail.

DS isn't quite up to writing letters yet though.
