Well the title says it all.

I have had a shocking time since Friday.
Friday afternoon DD comes home from school and is not well at all.. Check her temp 38.5 ummmm great not. she has had an annoying cough from post nasal Drip that all of a sudden turned nasty . Not long after establishing she is unwell I get a call from my mum and the result is I spend the rest of the evening in the ED with her (she will be ok had a nasty work fall)

Get home at 12.00 at which time DD wakes up and is unsettled and coughing up a lung or 3 so by the time I get her settled and back to sleep etc it is closer to 2 am..

Saturday is still frantic with mum being transferred to a diff hosp,me unable to be there as hubby at work and DD clearly unwell, that evening I finally get to see mum who has been discharged and is home ( I need to take her handbag, wallet keys etc to her) Saturday DD has another shocking night.

Yesterday was my DS1's firt Taekwando comp so DD said she was feeling better so we all go and watch my son win his first ever gold medal , whilst we were there it was becoming clearer the dD was going down hill so we leave early and come home. I then decide to call the after hours home visiting service. That was a bust as I called them at 3.30pm and at 10.00 pm still no sign of Dr so I cancel them knowing I will take her to the Dr today....

Today was already crammed with 2 other appointments for DD that couldn't be shifted without incurring a hefty cancellation fee (less than 24 hrs) so I am think great how will I get her to a gp as 99% chance the appointment will be when I need to collect DS1 from school etc.. This mornings appointments were also fairly important and needed to be done.....

So I am lying in bed at 5.30 this morning when my wonderful hubby appears and say he will take the day off to help me with all DD's appointments and to get her to GP etc knowing how totally exhausted I am and how ill she has been...

It was so wonderful as it turned out we needed to make a huge decision about DD at her scheduled appointment so it was great he was there to here the pro's and cons and we could make the decidion. It was fantastic that i was able to take her to GP and not worry about getting DS from school and was then able to get her meds... Not so great is she is still clearly unwell but wil be on the mend soon..

I was so glad I am not the sort to ask DH to stay home etc at the drop of a hat as when I really needed him today he was there for us all WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED..... I am so thankful and lucky I just had to share.

But yay for your son's win AND a thoughtful, caring DH!

Thanks, Yeah he is a keeper. I just love the fact that when the kids and I truly need him he is there.. I can manage when I am not well or when the kids are unwell generally but today I just needed help (I would never have asked though) DD will be on the mend soon once her A/B's kick in (I hope) but getting her seen today was a priority and I was even going to beg to shift her specialist appointment and Xrays to give us more time for the GP. by him being home meant her was able to come to her specialist appoint and help us make a huge and important decision (otherwise i would have needed to come home, relay what specialist said etc so that was huge... Also got her to GP which was def needed.... I guess we hear so many stories of DH's not pulling their weight etc but I truly have a great guy, helps with the house, looks after the kids no worries but today was the icing on the cake it just meant so much to me.... And yes I made sure I told him so.
