Hi all

Our car is on the way out so looking to get a new one. I've been wanting a 7 seater for a while now so see it as s good opportunity to get one

Anchor points aren't really an issue as we only have one left in a car seat. We just want thd flexibility of being able to take other kids in our car, eg on holiday, to sport, school etc.

We will probably get one brand new or close to it, not wanting to pay much more than 40k but not sure if I'm dreaming

Any ideas or warnings.

I can highly recommend the Toyota Kluger. A great family car.

We had a Territory. It was good and practical, but the rear row isn't comfortable as the seat is hard and there is not ample leg room. So it was only good when we had smaller children in boosters in that row.

We have since moved to a Kluger, I love this. Of course, there is not much boot space when using all seats, but you will find this with all 7 seaters.

I also loved the Chrysler Grand Voyager. The bootspace was amazing. DH wasn't having a van though, and this would be more than $40k

I love my Patrol original.gif more so cos i can either have the 2 rear backseats down 1 up/1down or both up

Unlike the territory where u have to have both up or both down leaving little boot space

I have just gotten a Kia Sorrento and I love it. Despite the inevitable brand cringe that comes with a Kia, they really are a great car. It gets great reviews and has beaten out a few of the more 'respected' badges in recent car awards. We have the diesel and its great on fuel.

Thanks, keep them coming

I do like the idea of the split back seat.

In all reality the back seat won't be used that much and thd kids are still relatively young 7 and 8 for the oldest so legroom isn't a huge issue yet.

DH had a Pajero as a work car for a while. The back row wasn't particularly comfortable for adults, but the seats fold flat into the floor, so that was handy. I didn't like driving it as much as I do our current older model Landcruiser, but then I didn't drive it much either. DH had a Prado for work which was nice to drive as well.

I love our Audi Q7. Not sure what price they are second hand but it's so lovely to drive and feels so safe.

It's huge, but I wanted a big car that would seat 7 people comfortably (not squished in).
