Yes, ask your doctor if they are safe during pregnancy, but I don't think they work anyway. unsure.gif

You need to check with either the pharmacist or your doctor to make sure it is safe to take while pregnant.

I think most are considered unsafe for pregnancy because they've never actually been tested.

If it's really that bad you could try polaramine - it's an over the counter antihistamine that's category A (safe for pregnancy) and it just happens to knock most people out quite nicely.....

Speak to your doctor before you take anything...I wouldn't but would try everything else before resorting to medication.

Have you tried:
A warm shower before bed
Listening to relaxation music
Going to bed when you feel tired ( even if its 6pm like I used to after work), not pushing through, very important when you are pregnant. Even nap during the day if you can.
Try to clear you mind before you go to bed, I found writing a list or my thoughts helped get them out of your head & somewhere else :-)

Hang in there you should get some energy back around 18 weeks...

I wouldnt take the herbal ones but have been prescribed sleeping tablets as part of my cocktail of meds for HG. You can get it over the counter, mine is called Restavit and the active ingredient is doxylamine succinate. You cant use it with any other anti-histamines though. Its completely safe as they use it in conjuntion with B6 to help control nausea and vomiting. But I would still speak to your GP before taking it as they would know what other meds you may be on.
