Hi all
I'm just a bit worried about my 3 month old son as his feeding habits have seemed to changed over the last few weeks. He used to be able to finish his bottle easily without it being an issue. He is fully formula fed and has been since he was 3 weeks. He has had good weight gains and been doing really well. I think for his weight he should be having 140-150ml. Sometimes I struggle to get him to have 100mLs. I;m worried he's not eating enough and I don;t know why or whats changed. I have tried changing the teats to the bigger ones - didn't work. I have tried loosening the bottle as I thought I had sometimes screamed it on too tight - didn't work. Can anyone offer any other suggestions? Since he has started this his weight gain has really started to slow and he has only put on 300gms in 3 weeks.
Thanks!

I think that despite what anyone says here you need to talk to your MCHN or GP if you are worried.

Babies all go through phases of eating more or less. I understand from reading this forum regularly that there have been studies that show over the course of a few days most babies regulate the amount they eat quite well.

If he's otherwise well then it's probably nothing to worry about! But only a professional can really tell you.

Babies do start to become distractible from about 2 months onwards and it peaks at 4 months, could this be a factor.
Lots of bfed babies tend to need to up the night feeds as they can be too "all over the place" to feed well in the day and can feed more calmly at night.
How many bottles of milk are being taken?'
Perhaps if the volumes have decreased then you might need to up the frequency, ie add more feeds.
But as pp has said, talk with your chn about your child, we can only talk generally and it may not be relevant to your baby.
At 3 months weights are usually not done every 3 weeks, often done at 3 months or 4 and then again at 6 months.
Perhaps keep looking at output, pale wee and poos (although they too drop in frequency at around 2 months of age-bfed baby).
All the best.
