Hi there,

We will be having a 2y3m gap between our two children and I'm thinking about getting a double pram just for walking around our neighbourhood (brisk but not power walking). The paths are quite bumpy so it would need to be sturdy design and there's lots of narrow bollards around so can't be too wide. I know there are some fantastic double prams out there but as we already own a fairly exy single pram I'd rather not spend much!

The new pram needs to be suitable from birth and would be good if both children could face forward but not neccessary.

Doesn't need to be pretty or have a big basket as I will use the double trolleys when out shopping.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

We are looking at the strider plus with the second seat attached. I just posted asking about it. I dont have one so I cant say for sure but it looks strudy. Both kids face forward but one is underneath so not sure how that would go.

I saw that - they are about 400 second hand.

I had a side by side aria with DD1 and DD2 which was ok for footpaths but not anything else. By the time DD2 was 6 months old and DD1 was 2.5 they were too heavy for me to push inthe side by side. we paid around 150 second hand and on sold it for 80 about a year later

The only other one I can think of is a phil and teds - they are probably expensive second hand too

If you want it for walking and won't fold it try secondhand and look at a double mountain buggy or double valco trimode etc. It deosn't matter how big it is when folded if you will rarely fold it.

Also look at the old Phil and teds E3 and sport - the newborn has to lie underneath to start with though.

Good luck

It is so worth investing in a good double pram! I fluffed around after DS was born in deciding which pram, not wanting to spend too much money I bought a second hand Phil and teds which I didn't like very much so I bought a Mountain Buggy Duet and I wish I bought it from the start. Would have been less money and super handy in those earlier days while I was trying to make up my mind! They do retail around $600 though so maybe you could find a 2nd hand one original.gif

A second hand baby jogger city elite or summit double - brilliant walking prams! But they're big and comfy so might be too big for what you're looking for. My first two are 17 months apart and I use mine every single day to take the dog for a walk.
