just after some recommendations on easy to read books for my 7yo ds. he struggles with reading but I want to encourage him to love books as much as I do. I think something short and easy would help build his confidence but it would have to interest him to encourage him.

any ideas?

Captain Underpants books aren't super short but tend to interest a lot of kids in reading because of the silliness original.gif

Zac Power Test Drive books would be good.

Also, Scholastic have a range of superhero books designed for kids to read to themselves, Batman and Spiderman etc, my older boys enjoyed these when they were beginning to read independently.

We have just discovered gibblewort the goblin books and my DS loves them. He hates reading but is now keen to read each night to see what gibblewort is up too.

second the test drive series of zac powers, the beauty is as he gets better, the series becomes more challenging to read.

I second the 'Hey Jack' series. They are short enough to read in a sitting or 2
But still a proper paperback style book.

I agree with the Hey Jack books. They are the boys equivalent to the Billie B Brown books for girls, which my DD3 (age 6, pretty good reader) absolutely adores.

Yes, I was amazed by the Hey Jack books. They seem to have an engaging enough story to make children want to read them but simple enough words so that they enjoy reading them themselves.
